Default audi a4 3.0L vs Acura TL

Not looking for a comparison thread, I already bought my 2004 a4 and love it. I drove my friends 07 TL around for a bit, but felt like a boat in comparison to the a4 (I <3 quattro).

The only performance problem I have with the a4 is that the TL was noticeably faster in a straight line. What would I need to bring my a4 up to (and past) the speed of the TL? I love the stock sound and look of the a4, so I'm a bit hesitant to go with a full exhaust system as I don't want to lose the quiet factor of the car.
I'm hoping something like an aftermarket intake and a chip would do the trick? Open to suggestions though.

You'd probably need to supercharge your A4., because your around 50HP shy of the TL's output and it's probably a lighter car. I have 2004 A4 3.0, I don't call it "The Turtle" for nothing. . Don't worry about the acceleration the A4 look better, is more luxurious, and it build like a tank.

Well, looks wise......I personally like the TL and i actually would have to say that it looks a bit better then the A4, i am a sucker for sharp edges it has. But its two different looks, they look nothing alike.

I would also say you would probably need to throw a supercharger on it for that.

Well speed-wise they are both pretty neck in neck its not like the TL leaves the A4 in the dust... it does have an extra 50hp and is around 150 pounds lighter, but its weird, the TL FEELS heavier when you drive it, more sluggish i guess.
The supercharger would make it much faster than the TL, I might go that route in the future. I was hoping to spend something around $1-2000 and just get a bit of a boost.
I was looking at PES chip, air intake, sprintbooster (although I dont know if sprintbooster is any good on an auto transmission) and possibly exhaust. I cant find any threads where anyone has a combination of those parts together...

the difference is 0.2 liters( for stock TL) so its nothing really. audi is 3.0 and tl is 3.2.
TL is a bigger car, its more comparable to a6 in my opinion then an a4. So thats why it does feel looser and not exactly what you call sporty, its not made out to be that way. Its a japanese luxury sedan.

And the sluggish feel might be because of its FWD rather then AWD, although it would only feel so on turns when throttle is depressed

2007 Acura TL fwd v6
3622lbs, 258hp, 233tq

2004 Audi A4 3.0 quattro
3626lbs, 220hp, 221tq

don't forget the bigger drivetrain loss on the quattro. you do the math

Also, an auto gear box robs you of power, more than an ex-wife will rob you of cash.

All of the mods you mentioned are not going to amount to anything significant. The A4 3.0 is simply not a very tunable car. If you want a tunable Audi get a 2.0T.

That is so true, I just dont understand why people have auto, its useless. manual isnt that much harder to drive, a few weeks and you are good to go.

ANd as mentioned above awd is literally split (Not sure what it is in the 04) between front and back could be like 60-40

Ok, good to know. Well I will be sticking with this car for the next couple years at the very least, so I won't bother investing in performance parts as it doesn't seem worth it.
As for manual vs auto. My last 2 cars were manual and its a pain in the butt when you are in stop and go city traffic all day.

i put the sprint booster on my 3.0 there was a definate differense in responce to throttle input, even the g/f noticed so it must work.
