Default 4.2L - ECU swap?

Question for A6S6RS6 and the rest of you smart guys:

What happens if I swap out the ECU in my S5 for the ECU from an RS4? Seems that there are a few prohibitively expensive tuning options for the car at this point. But if you can already get 420bhp from the 4.2L, then shouldn't it be easy to do the same with my 354bhp S5?

Thanks

Hey well simply put, it is cheaper to go pay APR to build you a chip then it is to tune it yourself. The setup in an RS4 is way differently tuned then the S5. The components will not correspond as they are supposed to, the timing would be different. The fuel ratios are different, the oxygen ratios, the injectors I imagine. So Same engine but different configuration to the coressponding parts/ plus different vital components. You would probably end up screwing something royaly and being in limp mode all the time limiting you to barely any power. I am sure you can contact APR or GIAC or REVO or MTM and see what their plans are for the S5 as I am sure you can match or exceed the 420 bhp RS4 with your S5 with a few minor mods. As it stands right now I would defenetly not swap the S5 ECU with the RS4 as the bit's that are programed in are different and the slots for each bit would also be different(not each one individually as Audi trys to keep them somewhat the same). So pretty much most of the electronic componenets would either fail or get a wrong signal.

1move - have you seen the price on the MTM supercharger??!! 25,000 Euros! I think I can safely eliminate MTM as a viable option....

Yes I have the MTM Supercharger includes a lot more than just a software upgrade. They also do custom software upgrades this does not mean you need to get it supercharged check APR

MTM is hardly an option... they are beyond expensive... try a north american tuner like GIAC or APR... the boys at APR will probably fix you up good...

I seen a super charger for the A6 4.2 - $10,000!!! For 10 large I'd trade in my car for an RS6!

I'm under the impression that they dont actually want to make or sell one, but for 25,000 euro's, they would do it just that once.
