Re: Importing a new A5
I know that some dealer still have a few 2010 A5 Cab Premium in stock. After disocunt and cash incentives, one can be bought for as low as $56,000 or so. How much did you pay for yours?

Re: Importing a new Audi into Canada
I have spent some time on this site and have not found any posting about someone successfully importing a new Audi into Canada. I have read several posts which indicate that dealers will not sell new vehicles to Canadians without a U.S. address and there are dozens of posts about importing re-sale Audis into Canada.
If you have successfully purchase a new Audi and brought it over yourself, please let me know how you did this. I bought my current wagon, a 2006 Outback XT, in New York and brought it back new to Canada without any issues. I want to do the same for a 2011 A6 Avant.
Thanks,
Lou

Re: Importing a new A5
Hello,
I imported an AUDI A6 4.2 from USA without any problems.
The car had low mileage, and the dealer from Danburry Audi did all the customs paperwork etc.
The warranty is valid here too.
You should have no problem in getting the car.
Good luck

Re: Importing a new Audi
Thank you Okaisa - however, 'low mileage' implies you bought a re-sale or used Audi. I want to bring a new Audi back to Toronto and would appreciate some guidance from someone who has done this.
I suspect the solution rests with having a U.S. address for the bill of sale. My concern is what happens when you get to the U.S. border and if there are any issues because you have two residences.
Thanks,
Lou

Re: Importing a new Audi
I dont think Audo has an issue with seeling a new car too.
Best way is to call Audi Canada and ask them if US Audi has issues with that. They willclarify.
I called them about warranty and they were very helpful.
The dealer ( they are well aware ) and In my case The Danbury Audi ( you can ggogle them) do for new cas too nd they do all the Paperwork too or Customs etc.
I am in Vancouver and shipping the car from US East Coast to West was done proffessionally and my car came in without a sratch.
Hope this was helpful.

Re: Importing a new A5
Hello Lou. Audi will not sell a new car to be imported into Canada. I was on line at the end of the model year and found a new A5 Cabriolet that had been sold to another dealer as surplus. Then the car was able to be classified as used because it had a different registered owner than the Audi dealership that had brought it across the pond. Audi was okay with me buying and bringing that vehicle to Canada and offered to hounor the warranty as well. The car was shipped by me to the boarder, enclosed carrier, and had 255 miles on it when I picked it up. It is brand new. That is the only way you can qualify. I when to Yahoo used cars and there were lots to choose from then. Contact me if you need further information. Good luck with it.

Re: Importing a new A5
I dont think it has anything to do with "AUDI" not wanting to sell a new car - I dont think you can buy any NEW cars in the US and import them to Canada - I think they need to be purchased by an American First.
