Default Gas smell inside car

I have an 2002 Allroad and the 2.7L in it. Anyone know if there are gas leak issues. My wife is smelling gas inside the car. Seems to come and go. I haven't had a chance to put it up on the hoist, although it was in at the mechanics last week and no mention of gas leaks around the motor area.

First place I'd check is the flex pipe and gaskets on the downpipe.

O-rings tend to leak a bit when it's cold outside and the car hasn't warmed up. So if you warm up the car in the morning, for example, and get in after a few minutes you might have some scent of gas in the car. As soon as it warms up o-rings expand and voila smell is gone.

This is one possibility.
