For those who been nagging all the time that Audi R8 is way too soft and unsurprising for a supercar, the company has made this, the R8 GT. It’s a tarted up version of the V10-powered Audi R8 which has been lightened and stiffened up, think of it as the R8 Superleggera! In brief, the power output of that 5.2 liter V10 is upped to 560 hp while the whole weight of the car is reduced by 100 kg, so now it is capable of time travel doing zero to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 320 km/h.

Audi has gone to enormous length to make the R8 as light as possible, although it still weighs 1,625 kg. The windshield for example is made of thinner glass, the bulkhead between the passenger cell and engine compartment, as well as the window in the rear hatch are made of strong, lightweight polycarbonate, the retractable rear wing is replaced with a fixed carbon one, and wherever it was possible they made cutouts and used thinner sheet metal.

The R8 GT features a few visual differences over the standard model including a new grille, new slashes in front and rear bumper, front spoiler lip, rear carbon diffuser and rear wing. You can have this model in four different colors: Samoa Orange metallic, Suzuka Gray metallic, Ice Silver metallic and Phantom Black pearl effect.

Fortunately, none of the luxury stuff you get with the standard models is gone! You still get an automatic climate control system and power windows, a navigation system with MMI operating logic and a powerful sound system. But the cabin is retrimmed in a more sporty way with racing style wheel and pedals and seats.

This limited edition model starts from 193,000 Euros in Germany, but like the normal R8s, it can cost way more than that when you are done with the options list, which are apparently very big for this car!
