2.3 10v in 90 Q rough idle trough out RPM's
So i got a new to me 1989 90 Q and just passed MOT check but i have idling problem, sounds like a missfire in a cylinder or even just a valve.
I will get the car tomm. and change the spark plugs, check the cables etc. but i was wondering if there is anything specific about those cars that will cost a missfire (rough idle).
i can hear its still there even on higher rpms.
Any help would be usefull.
Thanks

The idle stops as soon as you put your foot to the gas, so its something else.
Do a wet compression test and a leakdown test.
It could also be a bent valve, I have seen novices do a timing belt change and turn the engine over to align the marks.
