Hi All...OK, just familiarizing myself with the Audi line, and looking at used vehicles in the 2005 range...so the question is...

Is an "audi A4 s-line" (as I see in some of the classifieds) the same as an S4? From the engine descriptions I'm thinking not, but if someone can clarify for me that would be groovy.

Short answer is no. The s-line has some of the body and interior features that come standard with the S4 but you are talking about two very different vehicles. If you parked both vehicles beside each other and really didn't know what to look for they would look like the same model. The S4 only came with one engine and that is the 4.2l V8 making the S4 the high performance version of the A4 which the s-line is.

Cool - thanks for the answer - confirms what I thought...didn't see the telltale vertical red line on the rear and the grill on some of the "s-line" car pics!!

We have a meet (Krown Lakeshore, see above) where there will be a number of different versions of the A4/S4. Even if you don't have an Audi you might want to come out and meet up with other enthusiasts and ask questions.

You are more than welcome to come out.
