Good day all,
I became a member few weeks ago but only found the time to say Hello now.
Better later than never...
My name is Marc, living in the West Island of Montreal (Pointe-Claire).
About to receive my new 2011 Q5 3.2L in 2 weeks (they say).
A bit about myself.
I'm a mechanical engineer now been doing project management for several years.
The Q5 is replacing my 2007 FORD EDGE AWD SEL which the lease comes to terms in March. It is for sale by the way.
The Q is going to be our family winter car mostly along with the 2009 335xi.
Summer cars are 2 Mustangs: a 1995 GT which has become an enless project. You can call it a money vacuum (not too bad actually). The other is a 2005 GT convertible on which we add a KenneyBell supercharger and most needed larger rear tires and riims if you know what I mean...
The Q I pick is Deep Blue with Tan Beige interior and wood trim. I like light interior. It is a Premium package with NAV, B&O, 19'' wheels.
Options/Accessories that will be installed by the dealer are the Innotech DVDs (rear seats headrest), the trailer hitch, side foot steps and maybe the remote starter. It quickly adds up $$$.
We had tested a 2.0L back in September and had hard time to choose between the 2.0L and the 3.2L. 3.2L was not availble for test.
The dealer's 2.0L allocation was fulled for 2010 and he had only 2 3.2L left for 2010 delivery so I picked the 3.2L and we modified the dealer order to my taste.
Winter tires and rims are reserved and ready. We have mandatory winter tires in Quebec between Dec 15 and March 15.
Got my VIN number last week.
Expected delivery is Dec 13
Anybody knows how to track by VIN number without bothering the dealer every day?
Will post some pics when I get it.
