Question New member with a question for everyone

Hello all!

First off I love my Audi! I purchased a 2012 White S4 and had my dealer do the Stasis ECU upgrade and Stasis challenger exhaust. If you haven't looked at doing a stasis upgrade, I highly recommend you do! 415hp and 375lb torque creates a whole new car!

Anyways, a couple days ago i pull into the car wash to rinse, and I notice something that is protruding out of my front bumper....... shocked i walk up and touch it, and it disappears back into my bumper! it came out from the rectangle shaped kinda box on my bumper. Anyone have any idea what this is?!?!

Welcome to the forums Trent... 375lb sounds like a lot of fun!
My best guess is that the protrusion is probably your automatic headlight washer!

LOL, that would make sense! didn't know i had that feature. I wonder why it was stuck out though? it was sticking out at lease 4 inches.

Thanks for the reply!

My car (B7 A4) doesn't have headlight washers but I think they come out, spray the headlights and go back in. I checked some youtube videos and all this happens within a couple of seconds... I don't think it should have stuck out any longer than that and 4 inches seems a lot but maybe other S4 owners can shed some light.

I see what you are saying. I just view a couple videos and mine certainly stuck out way more. Another weird point to this is it was only the one on the passenger side sticking out.

Mine has been stuck out a few times too. I'm going to have my dealership look at it. I've heard they can file off some plastic so it retracts easier.

Congrats on the new car!! I just picked up a 2012 s4 from southgate this weekend!

Let me know if you need the winter s4 mats and trunk liner as I now have two sets of each lol!

last winter i had the same issue with my headlight washer. i took it in and they adjust the height of the little arm.
It did away with the problem 98% of the time, however ive noticed it the odd other time, more so in cold weather. its just one of those little things that is a minimal adjustment that needs to be done, but hard to make perfect.

my headlight washer gets stuck every once in a while as well.. i think its because water freezes run down when you drive and blocks the retraction. ...

also how much did your dealer charge you for the Stasis upgrade.. ?

thanks
