Hi all
I'm from Toronto, a proud owner of 1999.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro.
Gotta love German engineering! in my case I'm the VW/Audi fan...
Owned 1986 VW GOLF (manual) which I bought for $500 got about 2 years out of it, wonderful, efficient and fun little car to drive it was... if it wasn't for the previous owner abusing it by not fixing the water leak and having the car rust out on me to the point where the only thing holding the drivers seat was 1 bolt I'd still be driving it... the engine had well over 600,000km by the time I was done with it with amazing compression ratio, started every time, never let me down even in the winter months. Unfortunately I had to scrap it because it wasn't safe to drive.
Then I found myself a 1988 VW Jetta (manual) for about $700 which was also a great car, but I had to put in a new (rebuilt) tranny in it, spent around $1,200 or so but after that it treated me very nice for another 2 yrs...
Then came the 1997 VW VR6 GTI Special Edition which I got for about $10,000, this car I had for 3-4 years, it was a very fun ride, turned lots of heads and was quick... will never forget the authentic VR6 engine sound, it's one of a kind.
I didn't want to sell it but needed a bigger car so I upgraded to my now owned 1999.5 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro which I picked up with 54,000 original km, car was a dealer courtesy car and was not owned by anyone other than the dealer them selves. Inside still smelled like new leather, perfect condition in and out.
I'm very happy with the performance of the car, it has been treating me good, no problems just synthetic oil changes, 94octane gas and that's all.
