I broke right tail light of 09 TT conv :|
Hi guys..
First of all, I have black Audi TT 09 convertible. I made a terrible mistake when I was back-parking in downtown and I broke my passenger side tail light.. Damn..
Now I am looking for a body shop who can replace my broken tail light as soon as possible. Can you guys recommend a good one for me?
Or I can buy one in ebay : (I can't post URL yet, there is a post in ebay with title "08 09 AUDI TT PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT LAMP ORIGINAL P/N 8J0945096E RIGHT OEM #629")
Do you think it is a good idea to buy this tail light from ebay and replace with it?

That is sad. Luckily it is only the light and not the body or the bumper. If it can make you feel better, look at the picture of my little mishap in the garage last year before I changed the S4 for the TT: $8,000 to fix the front light, bumper, fender, hood and small corner radiator ...and I was inside my garage (22'X20' only). Can't beat this king of goofing
As for the e-bay light, it looks fine. It is worth to try considering the cost difference with a new one from the dealer. If the light is too faded/new compared to the driver side one, you can have a garage buff them to look the same. That is what they did to mine last year after my mishap.
As for installing the rear light yourself, it should not take you more than 10 minutes. Pretty easy job and I am sure you can find a detailed DIY on the net somewhere if you can't figure out how to remove it. I did it 2 years ago on my father's A4 as he did the same thing as you (backed-up into an obstacle in his garage).
Good luck.
