Looking for fellow TTRS owners to discuss the brake issues. I picked up my 2012 late last year. I understand from other boards that there are some complaints about brake squealing. As I was unfortunate enough to get in very few kms before putting the TTRS to bed for the winter, i did hear the occassional squealing - i noticed in generally cooler temps and only when very gently using the brakes and it can be quite loud. Many have suggested bedding the brakes to help and it seems to have an impact alothough it may be short lived. I have noticed on a recent board that audi may have come up with a solution but that was n another country (Europe if I recall correctly where the TTRS has been around longer. Has any other TTRS experience this annoyance? Dealt with audi to retify? Looking for input before spring hits and she gets to stretch her legs.

 

I was just at the dealer today complaining of the same problem. Left with the SA telling me Audi is currently aware but have yet come up with a solution.

 

Thanks, i appreciate knowing what your experience. Apparently there are a few in the US who have received gotten this resolved (see RS brake squeal update - AudiWorld Forums). As for me, I have gotten her out just last weekk and have not heard any noise... yet...

 

The only solution I have found is to heat up the rotors under heavy breaking...which typically involves non compliance with the posted speed limit.

Others too suggested the bedding procedure. I did that and so far, i have not heard a peep. Its still early as only had it out for about 1000km.
Really like the rims... black on white is sharp and definitely helps with the brake dust.... You stayed with 19"?
