Default horsepower gain from duals

Wondering on a 2000 tt with 180hp and single exhaust, if there would be any hp gain by changing the rear single outlet resonator with a 2001 225 hp dual outlet resonator and would the sound change

I don't think you'd get anything more than a few HP, if anything at all. You'd get much better gains with a good aftermarket 180 turbo-back. You'll also shed a significant amount of weight - I dropped over 30lbs of OEM crap with my turbo-back! Don't expect that much weight loss for a 180, though.
