Golden Horseshoe Audi Meet
 

Hello all. Last night three of us met for the first time at Sherway Gardens Mall parking lot to share our common interest in not only Audi but cars in general. It was decided to continue to meet at least once per month for now and maybe more frequently in the summer. We will change the location so its more convenient for now. The new location will be Lowville park which is on Guelph Line North of Dundas but South of Derry (quaint location) and it is to be held on the first Wednesday of the month starting at 7:30 pm. There are some great roads in the area which of course all lead to a coffee shop or whatever.

I know this is short notice but mark you calendars for this comming Wed February 3rd.

Hopefully we can attract those that are interested in the Hamilton and Niagara areas as well.

There will be no weather delays........snow is welcome.

So far the response to meet doesn't look good. I am open to suggestions on any time and or location changes if that makes it easier. I also realize that this being winter people hibernate and don't want to go out in the cold but we own AUDIs and we can discuss winter slalom or ice racing sometime. We can't discuss any of this if nobody shows up.

I'm up for it but I'll probably skip Feb 3 for exams. Otherwise, it'll be a good drive.

Hello to all who replied and viewed this thread. I have decided to cancel the meeting this Wednesday Feb 3rd for lack of interest. I will try this again in the spring when the weather gets better and people come out of hybernation and of course our cars are not full of salt. If there are any comments or suggestions let me know. I'm at the gym Tuesday and thursday at York track so other then those 2 days I'm sure I could squeeze it in without much effort

I'm in Grimsby and would be into any meets that aren't to far away. last one and furthest I'd go is square one. even then it was a long drive.

Seriously is there a meet commin up?! Forks of the credit is freshly paved as of last year, and I'm sure the resident's at the end of it would love us visiting again lol

That was a fun meet, half the people missing the forks road and getting lost, The Beer store complaining, or climbing on the old skilift for pictures, not to mention kinda driving on the ski hill lol.
As of where to go, forks of the credit is always fun, there's some roads by the Toronto Zoo that are fun, a friend of mine went on a BMW cruise and he said their route was good, i'll see where it was they went. I personally love Bayview extension, dvp and gardner.

Ok.....get your cars polished and fueled up because the nice weather is upon us. I promised that I would try and get all of us who live in the Golden Horseshoe together on a night for fun, discussion and fellowship.

Tuesday April 13th, in the parking lot of Lowville Park on Guelph Line before you get to Derry Rd. (go up Guelph Line you won't miss it). Time will be 7:00 pm.

Those of you who are on various different forums please let them know as well and post it. All are welcome including our VW and Porsche friends.

Depending on the turnout we will all vote on and give a trophy away for the best car there (no criteria involved).

Hope to get a great turnout and see plenty of enthusiasm for this.

sorry but the lowville park has to be the worst place to meet, theres no tims or anything there, why cant we meet in the longos parking lot on the corner of walkers and dundas?

plus the cops love that area.
and is the parking lot even paved?

For all you complainers I too agree that the Lowville park may not be the best venue but since this is the first meet and I did organize it we can collectively decide on a different venue for the second meet. Hope to see you all there

I still have winter tires on my car. I can't show up to a meet with winter tires. It's just wrong! Although I've never been to a meet before, it sounds fun.

Any place in the TA and the GTA is all good.
last time i went to one of these meets i was the only SUV (Q5) everyone in their A3s and A4s was giving me dirty looks :-(, let's try and remember this so called 'SUV' sits on the A5 chassis maybe i ill be more 'accepted' after this statement :-)

warcity: an audi is an audi! id be cool with q5 or q7 being there... prob want to check it out too!

i have 2 weeks or a little more till i have my new autoban rims on and summer rubber. also getting some new springs to lower it 1.25". also getting it detailed and claybared after its done. prob wont have it all done till the next meet but ill prob be at this one.

TOMORROW is the date. Mark your calendars and fuel up your cars. It is still (for now) at Lowville park on Guelph Line between Dundas and Derry Rds (you can't miss it). Time will be 7:00 pm.

For future meets we can decide on a different location and time to suit all who come. We can also decide on collective rides such as Niagara-On-The-Lake or similar. Track days may be an option to discuss as well.

I hope to see plenty of 4rings out for this first time so tell your friends and other Audi social groups. As mentioned there will be a trophy handed out to the best car as voted by all (no criteria other than show up).

If anybody has any questions get in touch with me. I have previously posted ways of doing so.

how did it go last night? any pics?
also what was decided for current of new location, meets, ect..

when is the next one decided. will be at that one if i don't have a TFC game that night. will have my summer rims/tires on as well my ibach springs, ecu done and deciding on whether or not to do Carbonio air intake or not.

Well here is the news. The first "Golden Horseshoe Audi Meet" took place as indicated with four of us showing up. We talked about each others rides and marveled at some of the upgrades each of us have done. It was decided by vote that LSKA4 was the winner of best car partly due to his self installed OEM Nav system. For that LSKA4 received a prize. ROBBIE_BOY demonstrated his fabrication skills with a planned boost gauge installation he is planning that is thinking outside the box. JONNYMALJAR (the young one in the group, 18 yrs) showed up in his sleeper B5 S4. While in the midst of an exhaust change the S4 sounded mean as it roared down the road.

After some laughter and discussions we went for a drive down some of the secluded country roads in the area taking full advantage of the handling ability of the cars. We ended up at a Tims for coffee to share photos and stories.

It was decided that we would set up the next meeting to take place at Sherway Gardens Mall in the NW corner across from the Accura Dealership. From there we would drive to Downsview and engage in some spirited go-cart racing for those that have the need for speed.

I will keep you posted when this will happen but expect it to be sometime in the next two to three weeks.

Just saw this thread..missed the meet last night. Hopefully I'll make it out to the next one. BTW, any of you guys around Hamilton have a VAG cable which will work on an 09 A4?
