I've tried this and other ways and the new remote does not program.
Thanks!
The new remote needs to be programed into the ECU it can be done with the vag-com as stated above the keys have to be matching numbers. You can also take the key appart take out the immobilizer and switch them to the new remote then you can program it...or hard program by the vag-com as stated above

No vag-com.
I'm looking at the key but have no idea which is the immobilizer or how to remove.
Thoughts?

Hey I am the guy that was going to buy the S4 from you with that tool that scanned the car.....but at the time the price was out of budget. I have a vag-com come out to our next meet and we will talk

Hi
I remember. I'm leaving on the 29th for vacation so won't be able to come next week.
Nov 13th might work, will have to see.
Audi wants $130 to program a remote from scratch so to speak.
I've talked to Pam at Tunedub and they'll do it for way less so I'm going to try that first.
Thanks
PS the car is still for sale and the price has dropped dramatically.

Thank you. I was hoping that there is a way to do it without vag-com, but if this is the only way. Any recommendation on where I can buy good and cheap vag-com? thx, Roman

Read the steps above and get someone with a vag-com in your area to help you out

You have to program the car to the key, not the other way around.
