I tried these instructions in the first post of the thread and it didn't work.

Will this work for a 1998 Audi A6 or is this for newer models only?

Mine loses the capability of remote operation occasionally. I can restore it by putting the key in the ignition, turning it on (without starting the engine) and pushing the lock or unlock button on the remote.

Hi There,

I recently had a timing belt service done on my 2004 A4. The battery was disconnected during the service and both key remotes were not working after it. The first key started working again after driving home with it in the ignition.

The second key I programmed using the process in the first post. It worked great. However the next day the first key wasn't work any more and nothing I can do seems to fix it. I tried doing the same process with the second key in the ignition and the first key in the door with no luck. I also changed the battery in the first key. Both keys work fine for opening the doors manually and starting the engine. But only the second key will work with the remote features.

If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

You have to program both/all keys one after another...

I can't seem to find a reliable online source to buy a replacement switchblade key fob. Anybody have a recommendation? I need another key for a B7 A4. I've searched the board and you would think this would be easy but I've come up empty handed.

I just ordered one last night. Made sure that all the numbers matched up with my current remote. Come with w blank key as well. Will see about getting the dealer to program that and cut the key.
