Many professionals are not able to afford an R8 because of our high tax rate (income tax, sales tax, etc..). Running a successful business will give you a lot more room to write off expenses, thus lowering the effective tax rate is the key to get more disposable income.

What about running an unsuccessful business? I see a lot of front shops in my neighbourhood that can't possibly be making money....
