Hopefully this is the correct location,, i have a 1999 a4 quattro 2.8L no forward gears, tried multi range switch and tcm, still not working, i just picked up a 1999 A6 avant 2.8L quattro that is leaking oil from the front of the engine, i plan on tearing it down and replacing what ever needs replacing, only has 20,000kms on a new timing belt,waterpump,pullies, and tensioner,. . i still don't want to give up on the A4, and my QUESTION IS will only a quattro or 4motion transmission work?
if i found a jetta or audi with a 2.8L FWD will that transmission work? could i just remove the rear plate and attach the quattro final drive?or is this not poss?
