Greetings,

I have had to change my battery and my radio is now in safe mode. I have read somewhere that in some Audi's the code can be next to the spare tire, but with so many codes, I don't know what is what. The dealerships want $60 to give me something that is mine. I bought the car second hand and with no manual.
It's a 2001 TT.
If anybody could help, it would be greatly appreciated!

 

The radio and code maybe yours, but the time the dealer needs to get it is theirs.
I can normally help, but the guy that does it is off sick.

 

I don't think the code is anywhere on the build sheet in the spare tire well.I lost my A4 code and ended up buying a new radio for cheaper than the dealer will give me the code.I also have an A6 that I know the code for so I looked at the build sheet in the well and the code was not on it.I would have recognized it if it was there.So I think it's a myth.

 

$60 is pretty damn cheap the dealer here wants $120

Sometimes the radio code will be on a work order from the dealership you've had it in for some work and they needed to disconnect the battery, worth a check?!
