Programming after battery replacement??
I just replaced the battery in my 2012 A3 Quattro hatchback. I purchased the battery at my local Audi dealership and installed it myself. The funny thing is, while at the Audi dealership, someone told me I will need to book an appointment to program the computer, so that it knows there is a new battery in the car. According to this person, if programming isn’t done after a battery replacement, the new battery will drain quickly.
Then, another staff membe at the Audi dealership told me that my model year (2012) doesn’t require programming, and that the car will be fine and not worry about programming unless warning icons appear in the dashboard.
So now I’m confused and can’t seem to get a straight answer on this. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
