Angry Need HELP for check light!!

Today, I put LED tail lights on my 04'A4.

BUT!! after changing that "Left/right rear light bulb" came up on dash board..
I guess system can not detect LED..sad... even though LED looks damn HOT! TT

Is there any way I can turn that off?

Should I go to Audi Service to turn that off and is that free even though my

warranty had been finished?

Help me out guys~

The reason that happened I believe is because of the following: LED's take less voltage than conventional lights. Due to Audi having a system in place that detects the amount of current that the bulb draws, it throws an error, as the LED does not reach the lower limit of voltage draw for the correct size bulb that is in your factory location.

I'm not sure if the dealer can turn that warning off, but it's worth a shot. Also make sure you check with them that this modification does not void your warranty, because quite honestly dealers can be ****...

you need a vag-com to do that kind of thing, and I'm not sure the hassle justifies the price of the vag-com... furthermore, i'm not even sure you can disable that feature to begin with...

Some "auto shops" sell resistors that you can install to comply with the "on-board" diagnostics, therefore no need to chanage your car's programming... we have seen these at a shop in Niagara Falls, New York. I think NAPA migh have those...

Go with the resistors. you can figure it out yourself, find the voltage going to the bulb and then the current, google Ohm's law which is R=E/I, which means Resistance= Voltage / Current, (do this for the factory bulb using a volt meter (make sure you are using it properly)The volt meter is connected in parallel and the ammeter(current reader) is connected in series on the + side) and this will give you the readings, than hook up the LED one do the same measurements, then do the calculations for both or let me know of measurements and I will give you the right resistor that will get rid of your fault code, and no you can not turn this of with a vag-com safely

LOL, k Well here is how to connect it to check the voltage. You put the red wire on the positive side and the black on negative side if you reverse them the voltmeter will read a negative value. You need to turn the dial to 20V or less in DC (direct current).

As for the ammeter turn the dial to A or Amps and take one lead of the volt meter and put it into where the wire is supposed to go on the positive side (lightbulb), than take the other lead and put it to the wire where it is supposed to connect so essentially making it look something like this.

(Negative wire)................(Lightibulb)........+(ammeter )-.....................(Positive wire) this a series connection

as for the volt meter it will look something like this

(Negative wire)...........-............(Lightbulb).........+...............(p ositive wire)

on the - put the black wire and on the + put the red wire
