Name those lovely O2's

Re: Name those lovely O2's
It should say (on the code) B1S2 or B1S1 or something.
Post what that is, and I'll tell you which one it is. FYI S(ensor)1 is the one up front, S2 is the rearward one (there are two on each side, 2 for each bank/exhaust side). B(ank) one is passenger side. B2 is driver's side.
B1 = Passenger side
B2 = Drivers side
S1 = Pre cat
S2 = Post Cat

Re: Name those lovely O2's
Unfortunately, the mechanic who read the code did not provide anything to me other than the above.
I'm going to take the car to another mechanic ASASP to provide the fault code.
I know my car is running well, it passed the e-test with good readings in between resetting the code.
In the mean-time. On the subject: O2 sensors are all the rage these days. What's the word on these cheep O2 sensors found on eBay? Like $75.00 cheep? (Maybe this belongs on the forum as separate issue).

Re: Name those lovely O2's
that mentions nothing about your o2 sensor...but rather talks about your cat(s) on bank 2 (driver's side).
This is a catalyst efficiency code and happens when you have piggies...or when you have no cats at all. What is your current exhaust setup? Give us some damn info!

Piggies ?? what's that ??
The car had been to a mechanic for a trans rebuild (no reverse). The mechanic who did the rebuild read the code as a matter of procedure. He said the only code that was coming up was the one posted here - verbatim. He said I had to replace two O2 sensors.
When the trans was out so was the exhaust. That mechanic made no mention of any oddity in my exhaust set up. I assume it is a stock arrangement.
The trans mechanic cleared the code. I picked up the car and with the light off I drove it to an E-Test facility. It passed just like that. Readings are good.
A few weeks later the "check engine" light returned. I assume it’s the same code as when I took it to the trans mechanic, because I have yet to replace those O2 sensors.
Now I'm looking to source out those O2 sensors and want to make sure I get the right ones.
must get the complete code. back soon.
