im looking to buy s4 in the near future. and ive been looking at s4 2001 ads for a little over a month, and there seem to be MUCH MUCH better deals in the states. but is it worth it? i used this calculator (sigh.. cant post url if i have under 15 posts "http://www.importcartocanada.info/tools/vehicle-import-price-calculator/" ) and if i were to buy the car at 8000, it would cost like 1400 just in import fees (not including gas, plane ticket to get there,an inn to sleep in if its longer then a day drive, ect..)

has anyone had an experience bringing a 2001 s4 into canada fom the states? was it modified? how much were the import fees?

 

Use the search tool to look up importing. There are several threads that deal with this question. There are also some testimonials from people who have gone that route.

it seems to be about $1.5k-$2k in import fees, and there seems to be quite a bit of things to do like paper work/registration. but it seems doable, the only question i have left is are there any difference between the US and canada version of the 2001 b5 s4?

EDIT:reading has turned up mixed results, some saying they are impossible to get, others saying they are allowed in now. i will contact RIV and see what they say.
