Default ECS Tuning V-checker scanner

Anyone purchased this before? Does it do what it says it does? I am also open to suggestions for alternatives to diagnose and clear codes. Seems a decent price as an alternative to visiting the dealership.

Or you can join the Calgary Audi Club, and we do it for free

I keep thinking about joining but keep putting it off. I would still like to invest in a vag-com of my own since I will be moving back to BC in March. No one else has made a similar purchase and can direct me to an alternative website or give me a quick review on a scanner they purhcased?

Thanks for the update. I forgot I had started this thread. I think I'm going to take the plunge now that our dollar is so strong and I am once again living close to the US border.

Did some playing around with this thing and its actually pretty sick. I did a instrument panel test and all my gauges started moving, you can test pumps and the rad fan, i can finally change the time to the 12hr clock! i hated looking at the 24hr clock. Umm did this radio diagnosis and my radio flashes DIAGNOSIS but it comes back on the vchecker as connection error. Not sure what it does yet. Ill try and make a write up to help use it.

I'd go out and purchase a genuine Ross Tech Vag-Com. If you scan your vehicle three times then it has already paid for itself.

BTW: I wouldn't purchase a wing nut from ECS Tuning. I have dealt with them before and I can tell you from personal experience that their after-sales support is absolute garbage. You can get better support from a trainee at McDonald. ECS Tuning is a rip off to any Canadian.
