Default Is Dealer rim, tire and paint chip insurance worth it?

Hi,

Just about to pick up a new 2019 TT coupe. Has the Sportline competition package with 19inch rims. They are offering Tire , Rim( rash and dents) and paint ding and scratch insurance for $1849 plus tax. These are heavy margin builders at the dealership so I think I would offer $1500. This is for a 3 year lease.

Is this worth it in Ontario? If I was living in Quebec I would take it for the rim insurance alone and paint repair would be the bonus. ( BTW, just tire and rim insurance is $1400!!!).

Its the 19"s that have me on edge and how they will take road abuse. We are getting winter rims and tires, and problably not buying this lease out in 3 years time. So, does buying/ leasing a new Audi at trade in give us some edge with road rash and dings vs trying to walk away?

Alternatively, we could take this expense and ceramic pro coat the car for around $1200 or do a front end 3m film for $850.

We have 30 days to buy into it. All ideas appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the package insurance you are talking about on my A5.
let me put it in simpler terms, you would spend 850 just for the front hood not 1849 for the rest of the car?
also ceramic pro is great, but doesnt protect you from the items in that package.... 1500 sounds like a reasonable offer

I would go for it. I hit a pothole or something at least twice over the last few years, destroying a tire and rim
