Hi,

I wound up somehow cracking my windshield yesterday at the car wash - when I left I pushed the wiper over (it was upright) and it somehow managed to crack the windshield when it hit the glass - its a crack starting where the wiper is about 3" up now. It seems to have grown overnight.

All the windshield repair places are closed today - anyone know if this is fixable or will I need a new windshield? I was reading online, a new windshield for a A4 is like $800? Frigging expensive car wash!

Can be fixed temporarly. Avoid parking outside for now.

 

Same thing happened to me, but when i was changing wipers, tooke them off, and left them up then for some stupid reason i popped the hood and it pushed the wiper down and now i have a 12 inch crack in windshield. It happened last winter, and it hasnt gotten any worse.
