Car drives in standard feature but not automatic
Hi,
I was recently given a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T QUATTRO, Tiptronic Transmission. Approximately 214,000kms.
The vehicle won’t drive in the automatic feature. The car will reverse in automatic. The car drives well in the manual feature. The previous owner said this issue has been the same since 2010. The car was put into storage from Dec. 2011 until March 2013. I have been driving the vehicle since March 2013. Does this sound like a sensor issue or will I need to replace the whole transmission?
The engine is in good condition, no rust on the vehicle what so ever. Seems to run well besides the Transmission/Transmission Sensor issue.
I'm not sure what to do...?

If it was a transmission issue it wouldnt drive at all! I think what you are saying is the car is tip-tronic. From what I can gather it sounds like a module issue or a sensor.
