Default Anyone looked at performance meters/monitors?

I searched around the site but couldn't find any info on performance monitors. A couple buddies that are into bracket racing swear by these things. They provide lat and long g's, 1/4 mile et, 0-60 times, 0-100 times, throttle and rpm logging, optical shift points, etc.

Seems now some are adding features to make them more road course friendly. Stuff like lap timers, GPS mapping of courses, replay of speed/rpm through a lap, etc. All very cool stuff.

I'm thinking of picking one up but I'm having trouble finding anyone using them. The two that have my interest so far are;

1. the G-Tech RR from the US.

one of my local performance shops has this one in stock for CDN $305.00

2. the VI from the UK.

http://www.vi-performance.com/features.aspx

this one is listed on their website for 130 pounds sterling. no Canadian retailers.

Just wondering if anyone would care to comment on their experience with these or other performance monitors.

Best Regards,
