So I've just gotten a call from my Audi Dealer saying my Car is ready to be picked up, and they've had to replace the entire engine, with a "re-manufactured" engine..

This started when I bought my used 2009 A4 Quattro (with a C.P.O) a few months ago, and after the second day I bought it the low oil light came on. Since then I've gone back to Audi and have done a few tests, and repairs, however on the last test, they said the engine was so bad inside, they'll have to replace it with a new one.

In talking to the service person at Audi, he mentioned that Audi calls their engine's re-manufactured, but they are indeed "new engines" straight from Audi.

I'm getting no secondary papers for my car (other than the service invoice) that indicate a new engine with 0KM has been put into the car. Is this "re-manufactured" engine actually a new engine? or is this some fancy terminology?

Anyone else have their engine replaced at Audi and can offer me more information than what the service guys at Audi tell me?

I've read several cases of S4 and RS4 engines being replaced under warranty, with brand new engines. It seems Audi doesn't have "refurbished" engines for these cars, so they always install new. Not sure 100% if this applies to your model but I would guess so, especially since your papers indicate 0 miles on the engine.
