Default Any S5/A5 owners on here?

As the title asks, wondering if there are any S5/A5 owners on here? Looking for some owner feedback on the car. I am quite seriously thinking of trading off my '03 A4 and moving into a S5 or A5. Leaning towards the S5, though. Interested in knowing what people are thinking about the car, what kind of fuel mileage they are getting with which motor and specifically on the 6 spd manuals, what rpm they are running at 100 or 120 km/h. Thanks

Steve

Yes. I've had my A5 for 10 months, and have 17000 km on it. I love it! The interior is great, the toys are cool, and it is a blast to drive. Between the better weight distribution, and the 60/40 torque split, the car is noticeably better balanced and handles better. Especially in the winter, this makes it more fun to drive than the A4's and A3's I've owned. On dry pavement it corners hard with almost no body roll. If the pavement is a little slick you can easily slide the rear end out and steer with the throttle.

According to the computer, my fuel consumption has been 8.6 L/100 km overall, with ~80% of that being highway driving. At 100 km/h in 6th the engine rpm is 2100.

In case it's not obvious, I would absolutely recommend this car!

Thanks for the info JSC. I was at the Audi dealership today getting a little more info on the cars as well. I am seriously thinking about this car now. It has been between this and the M3 and at this point the S5/A5 option is looking better simply because this will be my only car and it is more suitable for winter use due to the AWD.

The gearing also sounds alot nicer. My A4 with the 3.0L V6 revs at almost 3k at 120km/h. This gearing annoys me alot, there is no need to rev that high!!

Glad to help. I checked again on the drive home today. at 100 km/h - 2200 rpm; at 120 km/h - 2600 rpm. Good luck with your decision!

I've been looking at the A5/S5 as well, but the current lease pricing (8.5% for an A5 in Ontario...wtf???) is cooling my enthusiasm considerably. Over 3x prime rate isn't very attractive.

On top of that there is only a minimal discount available at best.

As it stands now I may just wait until fall for sales numbers to taper off and for the recession to really take hold. Then Audi may try to earn our business again.
