Default 1993 Audi 90 Q check engine and ABS light

Hi i got an 1993 audi 90 Q CS

when i got it the antilock was off on the dash, i try to press the anti lock button on the dash and it wont turn on..... we plug the computer to see if its responding and didnt.. a faulty ABS relay? or the sensor it self?

thats my first problem its been snowing alot in toronto so quattro is awesome but without abs it wouldnt have the same confort knowing that i can stop when i need it

My second problem is that my engine light turns on when i drive on the highway after 80km on a constant speed the check engine light would turn on it doesnt seem to affect my driving but i would like to know what was that light on for?

Any help or comments would be gladly accepted

Hi,
I also drive a 1993 Audi 90Q and I've had the same issue with the engine light. This was also happening after a stretch of highway driving and the light would go out (and stay out) if I shut down and restarted the engine. The car's going into the shop next week and I'll let you know if I find anything out.
Did you check all your fluid levels? I found that my power steering and coolant needed topping up a little and have not had the problem since. May or may not be connected to fluid-level sensors?
I have a leaky coolant reservoir, need a power steering pump, a will be changing the belts and probably the water pump (check yours out if you can - a siezed water pump will shred the timing belt - which will bend valves and probably require a top end rebuild - $3500). I also need a wheel bearing, tie-rod, tires (before the fall) and a few other minor cosmetic touches, but all-in-all a pretty great car.
My ABS seems to be fine. Let me know how that works out for you.
Cheers,
WingNut.

maybe there is a contact problem somewhere that's causing the light to go on?

MrTigz,
Mine's been behaving itself well lately, and no, I have not had it checked out yet. Need to get my girl's car out of the shop first (should be tomorrow or Wednesday).
You mentioned low gear/dif oil. That could be my problem also as the seal on my rear dif seems a little damp and I think I also have a very minor tranny leak. Some more stuff to add to my list (groan).
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers,
WingNut.
