Default price for alignment at dealership

hey guys, i feel like my a4 quattro needs to do an alignment. i heard that you need to go back to the dealerships to do it because they have the "proper" tools and softwares. i called autohaus agincourt and they quoted me $260 to do an alignment. that is WAYYYY too costly isn't it? do you guys go to the dealerships, suck up the price and do it there? or do you have any reputable places that you go to?

I know the guys at superior tire on yonge and 16th and they put on some new rubber for me and did an alignment past saturday. They have the right tool and the price is 89.99. New tires and alignment = car drives beautifully.

The quadra link front end in our Audi's is very simple to aling. There's only an adjustment for the toe setting. The camber isn't "adjustable" per say. The whole subframe in front is unbolted and a "special tool" (you can use a prybar) is used to balance the camber left to right so that it's equal on both sides.

The rear has a camber and a toe adjustment and any alignment shop can align our cars.

My local VAG specialist charges $120 for an alignment.

Bull. You can do a wheel alignment with string and rulers - you just need to know what you're doing. $260 is tantamount to robbery.

I got my alignment done after i got new wheels and raised my car for the winter. His price is $120 i think. Small shop but of all the other places i've been to who charges like crazy, or say that "everything seems OK", this shop had it fixed for a great price. For some reason, I find it hard to trust shops when it comes to alignment. Some doesnt seem to do it right.

I had a flat tire and only noticed it after pumping gas. So i was forced to get new tires for the front. A lot of people are saying go to level auto at danforth and kennedy? I think they use 3d imaging and they charge $89.99 for a 4 wheel alignment. Also theres a $10 off coupon on their website. That place is one of the cleanest shops ive ever seen. Im going to give them a try.

You dont necessarily need to get an alignment after putting new tires on. If you havent had one in years, it wouldnt hurt to get them checked out.
