Default New windshield

I want to replace my windshield on the ar as it looks like it has been sandblasted, with the summer coming and more and more sun it is getting fairly difficult to see out especially when heading into the light......so the question is, would I be ok with the aftermarket glass or is the OE more superior just because it has the little rings on it? Is the price difference worth it? Does the dealer even have the original glass or would they also use/sell aftermarket glass?

Any recommendations in the GTA for the swap?

You can probably get it polished instead of replacing the whole windshield especially if you have auto headlight and rain sensing wiper etc... My sister in law just got her 2010 corolla windshield replaced (followed a dump truck too close on DVP...), $330 was the bill but with PPG, the good ones, Apple auto glass quoted $485 and I dont even want to know what kind of price the dealer would charge.

Anyways, give Danny a call to arrange for his Glass guy to give you a quote 416-671-2021, Danny works at Thornhill tint, he is the best tint in town. Tell him Henry ask you to call him.

Polished? That would be enough to get rid of the sandblasted look?

Yes, most of them anyways, you will notice a big difference when the wiper go through the glass too, much quieter and no more skip, what they do is use glass etching cream or something similar and a wheel buffer to take out a very thin layer of the glass, and it will take out a lot of tiny chips from the surface, on the bigger ones he can fill them in with polycarbonate (i think that's acrylic) .

My glass has some small sand chips and the wiper is making noise on the return swipe (the transition) so I might get it done this year, I have 55K on my car.
