I recently found out through a random inspection that my subframe on my 2016 SQ5 is rusted and needs to be replaced. You have to understand...I don't drive this in winter and I have only 100000kms on this vehicle so I was absolutely surprised to see this. Apparently this is a very common problem for this car as there are a few plastic shrouds attached to this that hold water and condensation. Who knew! I started looking at new parts...$4000 + install, used parts are rare to come by or can't be shipped into Canada from the States or are more rusted than mine. Long story short, if anyone is looking for one of these subframes I will have one shortly as mine is being replaced and I am going to fix the one I take off. I will bring it to a frame shop to have this done professionally and it will be better than new. I would hate to see someone be as surprised as I was when I found out this was an issue.
