Default Chip work on a 2004 1.8T in Calgary?

Picking up a 2004 1.8T later this month and I think the first thing I do (besides tint) is get an APR 1.8T Stage 1 chip.

Any recommendations on where to get it first and foremost? Internet the best bet? Who would you recommend to install?

I always recommend VAST performance for chip tuning, I can check and see if they have a flash for your car, do you know what engine code it is?

My best guess is going to be BEX. I don't have the car handy just yet but judging by the codes from a chart I found online this should be her.

Yup VAST can do it, retail is about 450 usd, if you get into a stage 2, 2+ tune with w/m injection you are looking at about 550

I wont lie. I'm an absolute dumbass when it comes to this stuff and cant find it on google.

What are the advantages to jumping to the stage 2?

EDIT: I just realized the title says 2004. I have a 2003. Dont believe it makes a difference mind you.

Stage 1- chip & most likely upgraded diverter valve
stage 2- chip & downpipe upgrade
stage 2+- chip & full exhaust, possibly w/m injection

Basically as you free up the exhaust and allow the turbine spool more easily, the more power you can make. 2003-2004 makes no difference, I checked with VAST in regards to engine code.

Thanks for the help. I'll bug you more about this at the meeting! I can bring membership money to the meeting, correct?

Sorry to break in on this query but have tried googling VAST and VAST FTW and can't find them anywhere - please explain or give contact details. I'm also interested in chip and maybe exhaust.

Will make it along to a meeting again soon - soory been very busy

Rob
