Hey guys im upgrading my deck to either pioneer or jvc. Feel free to adive me on a deck. I am spening about 250 - 300 on it. I work for best buy so i can get discounts there so i would prefer somehting that they carry. I would also like the deck to have 4 v for the sub or w/e> I know nothing about sound systems but i was adviced to get that! I have a b5 and when i went to best buy they said i need to buy an adapter for it. They will be more then happy to install it but they dont carry adapter and arent able to order it! Anyone know where i can pick one up so i can fit the regular sized deck

 

I just Grabbed the most expensive Kenwood Unit BB carries for my A4, awesome deck no complains and $130 on staff, such a steal!

 

hmmmm i bougt JVC the most expensive one from future shop, ill post model number after! I hate how ken wood and the rest have blue led! it looks bad in red audi. JVC give different colored led in it so it will match well!

 

futureshop was also happy to order the adapter for me for 60$

 

kd-r800 JVC it pretty cool, bluetooth phone with mic and stuff and it got remote!

 

60 bucks for your dash kit or your wiring harness?? Thats rediculous either way.

 

i got my dash kit and wiring harness and antenna adapter for about 60.
everything needed to run stock amp setup and aftermarket deck.
There's a post about it somewhere. Definately not worth paying someone to install it's really easy

Defintiely go for the Alpine, put one in my A4 and I am very happy with it. Future shop can get the adapter for you from Metro. The adapter is for the VW version. It integrates your speakers and factory amp. Careful as the new deck can easily overdrive your factory speakers and amp.

 

Alpine is definitely where it's at and anyone who tells ya different sux (kidding don't cry) but seriously get an Alpine. Car products are their main focus which speaks volumes, unlike multi-product companies like JVC, Pioneer, Sony etc. I have the iDA-X100 (new ones are iDA-X300 now). I'm also running my rear 6.5" Alpine speakers off a 4 channel Alpine. Than another Alpine mono amp running my Alpine 12" Type R (Yeah I love Alpine, deal with it lol).

The X100 is meant for iPods etc (it reads small flash drives as well). I'm using it with my 2nd Gen Touch. If you do get this type of deck, remember to get the specific Alpine USB adapter for the iPod (guys at Advance will know). It doesn't have a CD player which worx for me. Also the red that it illuminates is pretty much the exact red in the car, it's awesome at night. I did the entire install myself. If any, I would recommend Advance over the big chain stores, they supplied the metro dash kit and wiring for my install.
