Actually, I'm a total retard. My TT had Symphony as well (they all look the same!) Shouldn't matter. Both head units are essentially the same in how the iPod adapter interfaces. Good luck!

I also bought the deck removal keys for $5.00 including shipping to Canada off ebay. They arrived today.

This thing works great! Best ebay purchase I've ever made.

Turns on and resumes play when I turn the car on
Turns off and pauses when I turn the car off
I can use all the regular ipod controls as well as basic ones via the deck
Comes with all hardware needed and nice active cradle that charges the ipod

I'll take pictures after I have it fully mounted. I'm still trying to figure the best way of doing that... I dont want to SCREW it into the dash (duh) like the kit suggests. (the only part of the kit I found sketchy)

I just installed the DICE i-audi-r ipod unit in my A6 and couldn't be happier it was easy to install and it sounds amazing well worth the $ imho. I got it from ipodcarpros check them out they ship fast and are very knowledgeable about ipod integration.

 

always rip your music to your ipod with apple lossless because your stereo will only sound as good as the music coming from the ipod. 128kbps sucks.

 

I find lossless a bit much. Unless I REALLY like the album. I usually use 256 variable, or 320 kbps.

 

I have an A4 comes with the Ipod unit...may I ask how much you guys paid for the cable? Can I buy the cable elsewhere?

 

Check out Grom. Reasonably priced. Just installed one in my A4. Did have to take out the Symphony unit because I wanted to run the cable to the glove compartment.
