It's a Symphony unit in a 2000 Audi A6 Quattro, all the lights come on but no sound. It started a couple days ago with the volume stuck at one level but if I waited 10 mins it would work fine again, but now nothing. Was wondering if it is the head unit or could it be someting else. Any help would be appreciated.

 

like you can turn it up or down and the volume would just stay at like say 10 and just stay that loud.. or was it stuck at that volume level and no sound ? when the sound comes back on is it really distorted? do all the speakers work try fading to each one. once it works and you crank it up does it cut out?

 

I have the same issue, happened a few mins ago. Can control volume etc except there is no sound. I suspect a fried amplifier, as i just tapped into the oem woofer wires to a hi/lo convertor then amp to subs. Worked all aft but now nothing. Good chance our factory amps are cheezed.

The remote turn-on for the new subwoofer amp i ran those tapped lines to seems to be working, as the power light does activate.

I have just come across this same issue, A4 2006 Symphony Bose system. sound kept cutting out, turn off and on and then sound goes. Heard a pop, could have been the AMP which has blown. not really sure.

currently the stereo turns on but no sound, ive messed with the audio settings but still nothing.

any suggestions ? i think it might be the AMP. ive been listening to the road for 2 weeks now lol.
