Default Newbie Nav question

Hi, although I have yet to receive my ordered A3, I selected the Nav option, my question is to anyone out there.

Do you know if I can purchase a tv tuner kit on ebay from germany and will it work on our Navigation systems. as I do not have enough posts on this site to link a URL it is item # 180217319678 on ebay.com

Thanks in advance from a eager owner!

thanks Black_RS4, that is actually the part I was looking at on ebay, my only concern is that our "tv" frequency would be different over here in Canada, so I was curious if anyone has done this mod and how they went about doing it

Hey paul, congrats on the car, this looks interesting. Like you say our frequency is different, is a wrong assumption, the electrical frequency is different 208V 50HZ to a Canadian @ 120V 60HZ, is true but you are working on a DC circuit which is the priamry power in our cars +12V DC so the frequency has nothing to do with it. As for the format of our video being NTSC and the european version being PAL, is dependant on the disc reader, to an extent being 98% of the case, this is just an enabler module... however I would varify with the seller as I am sure they would know, I highly doubt that anything has to be changed as it is only a bypass... let me know what the seller says

as 1 move pointed out, the TV receivers are different in North America.

Same goes for the digital TV Receivers as well, as Europe uses the DVB-T system, while we use ATSC for digital broadcasting on this side of the ocean...
