Great Story! I just did a similar thing, sans the turbos. My 2001.5 B5 is in great shape, but getting a bit tired in some places. I just order:
-ER intercoolers
-Meth Kit
-Control arm kit with spherical bushings and 034 adjustable control arms
-Metal tie rods
-Vast Stg 3 clutch
-01E full Transmission rebuild Kit
-JHM Solid shift linkage & Bushing
-Apikol rear diff mount & Bushings
-034 snub mount and trans mount
-Almost new 350mm 6pot Brembos

Once I get this all installed, I am going to save for a GT kit and engine build OR some of the new BW turbos. I have to be really really patient though...

Also thinking about a LWFW, but I have heard mixed reviews for this on the B5.

LWFW isn't my thing. I went standard because I like having flywheel. Makes the car a little less "peaky".

Let me know when you get all your polyurathane mounts in your car. I get alot more vibration through the chassis (to be expected I suppose) but I can even feel the starter crank! feels like I'm sitting on the motor. Hope this is normal... I even got the softer street series mounts. Can't believe how stiff the race ones would be.

My 01E still shifts like crap. OK not crap but close. Syncros are slow and the throw is notchy. Grabbing 2nd is the worst, feels like there is a speedbump mid shift as the syncro tries to work. My old Land Cruiser diesel shifts smoother. At least its not crunching anymore as everything is new inside but I had hoped for a better outcome. Let me know how yours turns out.

Other than that holy h*ll its a blast.

Hey Buddysnack, how much did you spend on all the mods?

I haven't had any of the work done, but it has cost me about $6k in parts (including the brakes). I got them crazy cheap.

I'd be interested in knowing how much the labor would be. After learning there's 7 hours labor in changing out a thermostat, which costs very little, the costs of after-market add-ons alone gives me no idea how much the set-up would ultimately cost installed.
