Re: S4 from the States
The simple answer is no, not by a Canadian.
The real solution is to buy a demo with 1500-4000 km on it. As good as new, but cheap as chips
bear in mind...the new S5 is priced pretty aggressively at $65,000. Its supposed to be between an S4 and an S6. The 2008 S4 was priced at $71,000 (base). That means the new S4 will be priced lower than the S5...so probably high $50s to low $60s. The 2008 S4 in the US was priced at about $49,000 USD base. There was a MASSIVE difference between 2008 in Canada vs. US, but that gap will narrow considerably in 2009.
It won't be as appetizing to pay the US price + import duty (6.1%) + transport + giving up a PST credit on a trade in.

Re: S4 from the States
The US model costs $49000 + import + trans + GST +PST = $60000
so a savings of $20 000 is pretty damn appetizing to me!!!

Re: S4 from the States
You should read my whole post...71,000 + tax is the 2008 price. The discussion was around the 2009. The fellow who started the thread wants a 2009. When the 2009 price is in the high 50s to low 60s, compared to the US price in the low 50s, you won't have a $20,000 difference....you'll have a $5,000 difference. Got it?
