Radar Detectors in Ontario

Re: Radar Detectors in Ontario
The Beltronics STi Driver is a great detector and undetectable by any of the Spectre RDD units. Haven't used the Escort Redline, but it is also apparently another good one. Although the Valentine 1 might be an awesome detector, it can unfortunately be detected by a Spectre RDD.
Just keep in mind your action/re-action to alerts can be just as obvious as the detector itself.

There is a way to beat the charge
I was caught a few years ago.
Happened around the Woodstock area on 401.
I researched the hell out of the law, and found a loophole.
Went to court.
The judge ended up dismissing the charge. Huge bonus points..
They had to give me back my radar detector. The cop was so incredibly pissed, smoke was coming out of his ears!
I even got the judge to commit to allowing me to reference his name, just in case the cops tried to be stinky, and bust me again as I drove away from the opp detachment with the unit in my car. I figured they might try to re-charge me with being in possession.
By the way,,, slight error in previous posts.
If the unit is in a sealed box, it can be transported.

Re: Radar Detectors in Ontario
I have always had the Idea of installing a radar detector with a kill switch and disassembling the unit to extend the wires of the detector sensor to mount it in the grill/bumper and hide the rest of the unit in the dash.
I, like someone mentioned before, try to be aware of all vehicles around me and on my path but, there are those time when you zone out for a bit and that's when these units can be useful.
Would be nice to know the said loophole from the previous post...
