Ordered! Joining the S4 club
Well, I got back from the dealer earlier today, and am happy to say I'm officially ordered.
The wait now begins for my Sprint Blue on Black DSG Premium with Carbon Inlays, Navigation, Sport Differential, B&O, and Black Optic.
Very, very happy. I'll post pictures when it gets here.
A total aside, but something I thought was interesting. I've been a diehard BMW owner for years (323ci, M3, and 535xi), and now both my wife and I are Audi drivers. I'm no automotive journalist, but I fancy myself a pretty knowledgeable car enthusiast, and I think the fact that both of us picked Audi's says a lot about the quality of the product.
Looking forward to more participation on the forum.

Congratulations. Several of my friends have the new S4 and it really is an amazing car but you already know that. What is the delivery time? Looking forward to your continued participation on the site and sharing your wisdom. Where are you located?

Thanks for the welcome and congrats.
Delivery time should be around 2 months. The dealer was kind enough to use an allocation that is about to be built.
I'm located in Toronto (updated my profile), and look forward to attending meets.

If you are wondering when to expect it to be delivered here is the time frame when I ordered my car.
I'll start with when it came off the line.
Production Completion Date: June 24th
Transit from Factory to Shipping Port: June 28th - July 2nd
Shipping to Halifax: July 9th - July 20th
Transport to Vancouver via train: Arrived Aug 4th
I would suspect it would be a week or so less for Ontario.
Check with your sales person on when it is scheduled to come off the line and you can estimate when it should arrive.

Thanks for the info. Looks like you were about 5 weeks after the car was built. Based on my original build date, the car should be just built, which means I'm looking at the last week of November or so.
I'll confirm the dates with my salesman this week.

Yah, I was all over my Salesman about when it was going to be built, the day it came off the line, when it was sent to the docks for boarding.
I couldn't find out what ship it was on - too bad because BMW use to do that where you can track where your car is as it travels to your dealer - I think they still do.
I even went online to look up Railway shipping times and expectations.
I live in Victoria, so my guess was off a few days as it depends on when the car is moved to a trailer and hauled to the Island from Vancouver.

Congrats Esoteric! I took the easy path and picked my S4 from the lot. It is a great car!
