Question K&N Filter for 05 S4

Does anyone know of any complications arising from the use of a K&N air filter? I've heard that oil based filters can mess up your mass air flow sensor due to oil intrusion. Is there any truth to this? If so, does anyone know of any high performance filters that DONT use oil?

Thanks for your time

Yes that is very true. When you get a K&N filter oil it and let it sit for a few days to dry completely and then drop it in and you are fine. To be safe leave it for like 5-7days to dry hope that helps

I just replaced my mass airflow sensor because of K & N oil leaking into the old sensor and fouling it. This is common with K & N filters. I would use their oil very sparingly and let it be fully absorbed over time before trying it on a vehicle. It'll save you some $$$ and headaches in the long run but there is still a chance of oil being thrown through the intake manifold onto the sensor. Good call 1move. Best of luck with it Mongeitis.
