Hunting for S6
I have been driving a 2001 A6 4.2 for the last 7 years and have decided to put in out to pasture (best car that I have owned). I have driven or owned may different vehicles. I am now in the hunt for a S6; looking to buy a 2007 with low kilometers. I have been checking prices here and in the States and see alot of savings, buying cross border. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Where is the best place to look-Should I buy in the States-Problems with vehicle etc.. Any help would be appreciated, my time line is within the next two weeks.
Thanks

totally buy in the States. I bought my 2007 S4 there and with the money I saved I could buy a 2001 S4!
go to the general audi discussion section and read my sticky on how I did it. Other posters have contributed to it as well.
Where to look? I decided
not northeast - salt corrosion underneath
not on the ocean - salt corrosion of the paint.
anywhere warm (no winters) will do. Try Maryland (lots of money there...and TONS of great preowned S/RS Audis) and try around Atlanta.
I bought from Macon GA. They met me at Atlanta Airport, tossed me the keys and I was on my way in literally 10 minutes after walking off the plane. Fantastic.
PM/call me if you want any help. Quite easy really. Many use a broker, but the broker will charge $1000 (minimum) to $3000 and will maybe even take a profit on the car price as well if they buy at auction. Could cost you a fortune. I reckon I spent about 4 hours of paperwork/research/registering/getting inspected. Saved 1500 to 3000 over a broker, so that's a pretty decent hourly wage!

I would purchase a used US Audi esp with recent CAN / US bumper and other harmonizations that should be confirmed for your model. Most US Audi's are now permitted into Canada with fewer change$ required.
You should have!
If you ever have a choice get a Sport Package '01.5 / '02 S4 and Stg3 the leftover savings

yeah, the stage 3 S4s are ridiculously fast. I can't quite get my head around it sometimes. They crush ferraris and 911 turbos. That's just insane!
What is stage 2 stage 3 etc.? I reckon it has to do with the level of upgrading, but I'm clueless beyond that.
