Canadian S4 headlights - auto leveling?
Anyone know if the canadian s4's came equipped with auto leveling headlights?
I know american S4's came with them, but they are all xenon, where as canada got halogens.
Can anyone confirm??
I just picked up headlights w/ leveling motors and I want to know if they will work with our cars.
Any input would be appreciated! Thanks.

My B7 S4's lights shifts themselves at the begining everytime the lights are turned on.
BTW, I can't seem to be able to get the steeringwheel heater turned on. Any thought?
Thanks,

Re: Canadian S4 headlights - auto leveling?
You are correct, Canadian B5 S4's shipped with non-leveling halogen headlights while most US cars shipped with leveling xenons. All factory xenon's are supposed to be auto-leveling.
Check your B5 Passenger side (btw C5's are on driver side) suspension lower control arms to see if the leveling sensors are present. If your car did not ship with auto-leveling headlights, then the sensors are likely not present (not hard to add) and the wire harness for the sensors may not be present (hard to add).
Pins 5 Gnd, 6 Neg and 7 Pos at the headlight connectors should be for driving the leveling motors.
Along with the leveling motors in the headlight assemblies, you would also need to confirm if the Headlight Range Control Module is present. This controller should appear as Address 55 Xenon Range Control in a VAG scan and it requires coding (easy with VAG).
Bentley wiring diagrams have good info.
Hope I added some info as I also wanted to look into this further to see exactly what is needed. Has anyone installed a fully operational OEM autoleveling system in a B5 S4 that did not ship with it?

Re: Canadian S4 headlights - auto leveling?
If I'm not mistaken the heated steering wheel comes on based on temperature, similar to the heated side mirrors. What triggers it is unknown to me, most likely the interior temp. Hope that helps. BTW I'm driving a B5 S4, so my comments are based on what I've noticed in my friends B7.

Re: Canadian S4 headlights - auto leveling?
I didn't even know the car had a heated steering wheel...I was just thinking yesterday (while putting winter gloves on to drive) that if a Nissan Maxima in 2001 had heated steering wheel, why can't a new Audi...maybe I shouldn't have bitched about it!
I've asked the guys at Audizine.com
There are a few billion S4 drivers over there who'll have an answer pretty fast
