Default Audi RS6 Avant

Nobody needs a car that can carry a washing machine and has as much power as the new Audi RS6 Avant. Audi has bolted not one, but two turbochargers to its 5.2-litre V10 to create the most powerful Audi ever made. We reckon that its 572bhp output also makes it the most powerful estate car on sale today, easily eclipsing the BMW M5 Touring and the E 63 AMG Estate from Mercedes-Benz.

Needless to say, performance is just ballistic, with 0-62mph coming up in just 4.6 seconds and the RS6 will reach double that speed in just 10.3 more seconds. At which point whatever you had in the cavernous rear will be smeared all over the boot door.

.. As much as we love the craziness of the Avant - and we really dig the new Quattro-inspired wheelarch blisters - we can't help but wonder why!

This car makes me want to sell the house. I remember when these pics were released, I wish I had the money for one.

This is what I'm looking for but then, I don't have kids yet, so I can indulge in looks.

2008 Audi RS6 Avant - Top Speed

Even if you had kids it'd still be practical as hell. You'd have the greatest wagon on the block thats for sure.

Dang, I should have waited to get that wagon instead of my A4 avant.

I'd be the only Mom in the carpool without a mini-van. (hypothetically)

A Mom would beg to differ.

Do you mean this car has more "kick" than your A4? That's what you're looking for? Is the A4 more practical price wise?

yes it does have more kick, but not for long.... (planning on doing some additions to my A4). Price wise - it's def more but i'm happy with mine now. Maybe in the future I'll go with a RS series wagon.

The Service Manager at the local dealer was heard to say "I hope we never get one of those in here".

His concern was that it'll be difficult and very time consuming to perform indepth service work, along with another shwack of new specialty tools needed. A 2.7T Twin Turbo is packed in the engine bay tight enough, imagine servicing a V-10 Twin Turbo engine. If there was no time pressures, I'd like to try
