Default Anybody with an S5?

After looking for a new car for a couple of months I've decided on a 2011 S5. Where else can you get such a beautiful coupe with a stonking V8 engine and nav for only $63,000? My alternative choice was a BMW 335i coupe which came in similarly equipped for $65,000 and it's 54hp down on power from the S5.

Anybody on this forum have an S5 and have you had any issues with it? I'm going to pull the trigger on a deal next week.

I would like to add if you are looking at bmw's the 335i is not on the same marketing level as an s5. What should be compared is the S4 and the 335i. Many others on the audizine forums have said that even though S5 has a V8, test drivers have said the S4 has more "soul". Although I love Audis, I suggest you consider the new 5 series as I think they are gorgeous. A car is a big investment, test drive find what you like never compromise. Happy hunting!

????

He's looking at 2 door coupes and you're suggesting a B8 S4?

I think the lines of communication are crossed. Also, how on earth can anyone say a beautiful car like the S5 with it's curves and aggressive face...and an AWESOME V8 growl has no soul???!!! That car snaps the necks of the blind and deaf alike. If you're fully sensory functional, it's orgasmic.

The B8 S4 is an excellent car...I recommend it to people all the time, but for soul or visceral feel it's a little lacking. The S5 would be a wonderful addition to any garage.

TO the OP: Just FYI - performance wise the S5 and 335 are pretty much equal. The 335 is under-rated by about 15-20hp/torque...and it is a bit lighter, so despite it's apparent 'shortcomings' power wise, it's a dead even match for the S5 4.2.

If you're interested in aftermarket performance improvements, you'll find the S5 market is almost non-existent, while for $1500 the 3 series will be making a clean, easy 400+hp. You sound like you won't be modifying the car, so I don't think this is an issue, but thought I'd mention it. The turbocharged inline 6 responds incredibly well to tuning while the S5 4.2 will not.

If you ARE interested in tuning etc. the S5 cabriolet offers the best of the 335 and the S5...it is still a sexy S5 coupe, but is powered by a 3.0 litre supercharged V6 that, with tuning and a simple exhaust mod (total $3000) will also produce about 400hp/torque.
