Question 800HP Turbo Upgrade?

I just picked up myself a 2000 S4 B5 Silver 6-speed about 230km but the guy put down a few thou for new brakes, belts ect ect. I obviously would like to invest some of my hard earned cash and i've been looking around for Stage 3 turbo upgrades and came across one that's fairly cheap and gives you 800HP....please explain. Too good to be true?

The posted link does not work. Suppose it's always relative but 800HP in a B5 S4 is not considered cheap as there are many upgrade items needed to support an 800HP engine.

Check out Autospeed for reference to some of the big Turbo kits available.

Your link is for the "larger" Garret GT2871R Turbo's and is a bolt on hardware kit only, meaning no fueling, no programming, no lots of needed things to make it run.

Autospeed $11K "smaller" Garret GT28RS Turbo kit with fueling and prgramming, etc is considered a Base Kit as it will get the engine running but still needs more items to make vehicle drivable, such as Intercoolers, Clutch, Exhaust, etc, etc:

Autospeed Performance - Garrett GT28RS Turbo Package, Base Kit w/Fueling - Products

You can likely plan on spending $20+K needed to build 700HP / 800HP driveline and keep it attached to the chassis.

The bottom end won't hold after around 650hp. You're running into dangerous territory using the stock rods and so forth. After the 600 mark, you're getting into extensive modifications like K04-S4 said.

The Autospeed kit is insane. And to give you and idea of how much "supporting hardware" will cost to go stg3...it cost me just under 10k. And that was for a simple plane jane K04 setup, doing all the wrenching myself.

800hp isn't going to come easy or cheap in an S4. Unless you're planning on remortgaging your house, I'd look into something a little less ambitious.

Good luck though. They're fun cars.
