Angry 2011 S4 Delivery Complaint

Does anybody know how closely Audi Toronto can track where a car is in terms of manufacture, cargo, port etc. I am having my first child very very soon and Audi is giving me the run around on delivery saying that until it gets to port they can't say when it will be here. This seem slightly ridiculous that they dont know when a car will be delivered once it leaves the factory..

This is last thing I want to deal with as I specifically ordered it so it would be here in time for me to get car seat, winter tires etc and not have to deal with all that stuff at the last minute..

Congrats on the two new additions! A little more patience on the car. International shipping is unpredictable unfortunately. I deal with it all the time. Good luck with both! They'll be here before you know it and your only worries will be getting enough sleep!

They should be able to. When I was buying my Avant, once they had the VIN number for it, my dealer was able to tell when it was due to be shipped to Halifax and then estimated the time for delivery over to Vancouver from there. it actually arrived 2 days I think before we expected it to.

Well after saying it was on a ship and they would let me know when it arrived, I insisted that they provide me some sort of timing. He then called me back and meekly apologised because apparently my car "missed the boat" and is still in geramany. Not a good start after 6 years of good service from BMW...

I ordered a 2011 TTS in October and they gave me a date around December 10 and it came in about a week early. They should be able to keep you regularly updated. They also told me when it hit Halifax.

They don't have much control on what the ports do. Neither with how much time Customs takes when it arrives.

Dealer don't have any control at all over anything, once the order is placed, the vehicle follows a schedule that is totally controlled by Audi AG.

^ What he said ! Although Audi provides approximate timelines, mine took a solid 2 weeks longer. Considering we're now in a month that's truly only 2.5 weeks long by most business standards, I'd just chill and look forward to when the "winter beater" arrives. BTW, there's no reason to have to wait for winter tires - you can certainly deal with this requirement immediately and sweet talk the dealer into putting them on as part of the delivery prep ...

maybe cancel your order and go get another BMW. You sound miserable...

p.s. next time you order a car to be built 5,000 miles away, try not to order the most popular sports sedan on the planet. They tend to be on backorder and delivery times aren't the same as say a 335xi which you can have any configuration you want on a moment's notice in the GTA.

Angry 2011 S4 Delivery Complaint - UPDATE

To the Audi apologists who commented on my orginal delivery complaint thread and seemed to allow Audi to slide on late delivery..well its now five weeks late and still no car..

on the bright side, after realising that they should not have said it was en route when it clearly was not, they gave me a loaner.
